Community Quilt Days

Service to the community is a very important
commitment for our guild.  This takes the form of the creation and donation of Comunnity Quilts to
15 organizations in our City.

Our high quality community quilts,  made with caring and compassionate hands, bring comfort to those who struggle with life situations; – premature babies, children who are experiencing a change in
home environment, people living with physical or mental illness, people recovering from addiction, individuals of advanced age.

Our guild has an ongoing association with Maison Vale Hospice, a palliative care centre.  We continue to supply the Hospice with bed quilts, placemats and themed mini memory blocks (12” x 12”) showing our support for the families of residents.

  • Participation in the Community Quilt programme is
    available to all members.
  • Donated fabrics, backing, and purchased batting are
available free of charge to any programme
    participant.
  • Quilts of all sizes are accepted.
  • A planned project item (with kit) is aimed at skill
building, or you can work on your own Community Quilt project.
  • Learning, fun and fellowship are the order of the day.
  • During the guild year five Community Quilt Saturdays
    are scheduled.

During 2014, our Community Quilt programme received the following awards:
